ARCH-E Roadshow in València, Spain

ARCH-E Road Show in Valencia with Swiss participation

The ARCH-E project led by the Austrian Federal Chamber of Architects and Engineers BKZT is an European project focussing on the future of Architectural Design Competitions from an international and Euorpean rather than a national perspective. Started in 2023, the project will be concluded this year. Within the framework of the project, each partner will host an event presenting project results in its specific national context.

On February 20th, the politechnical University of Valencia, research partner in the ARCH-E project hosts its ARCH-E-Road-Show for Spain, a conference on the topic of "Rethinking Architectural Competitions – Projects, Processes, and Juries in the European Context", at the School of Architecture in Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) (Spain) and is supported by CFP Long-Learning Centre at UPV.

At this event, Miyuki Inoue, partner of Hull Inoue Radlinsky GmbH based in Zürich, who has won multiple international competitions and was awarded the #anotHERVIEWture prize by the Austrian BKZT in 2024. She will provide insights about the culture and practice of ADCs in Switzerland. At the same time, she is member of the Swiss representation at ACE and UIA as a member of the CSA.

The event will also feature Ivan Capdevila from the University of Alicante, winner of several Europan competitions; Anna Ramos, director of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, who will discuss the Barcelona party walls competition in collaboration with UIA and UNESCO as part of Barcelona 2026. In the afternoon, Luciano Alfaya, dean of COAG and head of competitions at CSCAE, will also be a guest speaker at the Chamber of Architects of Valencia. Eva Alvarez and Carlos Gómez, ARCH-E researchers at UPV, will introduce the event.
