Civic Design Conference 2024 - Substance & Transformation

Since 2021, SIA International supports the International Civic Design Conference of the Peter-Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf by sponsoring the involvement of speakers and stakeholders related to Switzerland. The conference is quite unique in its focus on urban and civic design, connecting issues of urban development from a broad and transdisciplinary perspective.

This year, the conference focused on contexts, strategies and good practice of transforming an intervening in the existing urban fabric. Among the keynote speakers were Prof. Anne Lacatan, Lacatan & Vassal, EPF-Lausanne/Paris, Eric Honegger, baubüro in situ, Basel/Zürich, Prof. Jo Taillleu, jo taillleu architecten, EPF-Lausanne/Gent.

As in the previous editions, the conference again included a morning session involving studends and conference guests in workgroups with speakers and teaching staff of the School of Architecture.
