Civic Design Conference

SIA International is happy being a key partner for the 2021 and 2022 Civic Design Conference, organized an hosted by the the Faculties of Architecture and Design of the PBSA University of Applied Science in Düsseldorf. The event is dedicated to the discourse of urban an civic development, and includes keynote speakers from Switzerland, Belgium, France and Germany. They are introduced by colleagues form the Nederlands, Italy etc. teaching in the unique Civic Design Master programme of the University. Through the contriubtion of SIA International, the participation among others of Prof. Christoph Gantenbein (Basel/Boston) , Prof. Sebastion Marot, Paris/Lausanne (EPFL) and Prof. Freek Persyn Brussels/Zürich (ETHZ) has been made possible.

In its non public part, table discussions between keynote speakers, Master students, selected expert planners form the regaion and beyond and city administratiors warmed up in thematic round table discussions around the conference theme: The Compact City in the Age of Sprawl The conference in the afternoon was open to the public and was streamed live.
